Rock Creek is one of Montana's premier trout fisheries, located in the Missoula County region. The river is well known for producing quality Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout, drawing anglers from across the country throughout the season.
Fishing on Rock Creek varies significantly by season. Spring runoff typically peaks between April and June, with conditions improving as flows stabilize. Summer offers excellent dry fly opportunities during morning and evening hours. Fall is prime time for larger fish as brown trout move into spawning mode. Winter fishing can be exceptional during midday midge hatches.
Rock Creek supports healthy populations of Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat Trout, Brook Trout. The river's diverse habitat — from fast riffles to deep pools — provides year-round holding water for trout of all sizes.
