Short version: We don't sell your data. We use standard analytics and display ads. We don't require you to create an account. Your fishing report queries are processed to generate responses and are not stored permanently.
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information to operate the service:
- Usage data โ pages visited, features used, browser type, device type, and approximate location (country/region level). Collected automatically via Google Analytics.
- River and report queries โ when you generate a fishing report or request river data, we process your selected state and river to generate a response. These queries may be cached server-side for up to 24 hours to reduce costs and improve performance.
- Log data โ standard web server logs including IP address, browser, and pages visited. Retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.
We do not collect: names, email addresses, payment information, or any account credentials. No account is required to use Trout Bible.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the Trout Bible service
- To generate conditions reports based on your selected state (reports are AI-assisted)
- To serve relevant advertisements via Google AdSense
- To analyze site usage and improve performance
- To detect and prevent abuse or security issues

Trout Bible is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
