Cranberry River is one of West Virginia's premier trout fisheries, located in the Monongahela National Forest region. The river is well known for producing quality Brook Trout and Brown Trout, drawing anglers from across the country throughout the season.
Fishing on Cranberry River varies significantly by season. Spring runoff typically peaks between April and June, with conditions improving as flows stabilize. Summer offers excellent dry fly opportunities during morning and evening hours. Fall is prime time for larger fish as brown trout move into spawning mode. Winter fishing can be exceptional during midday midge hatches.
